What can CBD do for you?
For several years, I’ve been a proponent of CBD in both topical and edible form. Why? Well, glad you asked.
First, let me tell you what CBD is. It's a cannabodiol derived from hemp. As an active compound, its medicinal benefits are legion, but unlike its cousin TCH, it is nonpsychoactive. Meaning you won’t get high ingesting or applying CBD products.
Now that you know what it is, let’s chat about what it does.
In the past, I’ve written about CBD receptors, which are located throughout our brains and bodies. CBD provides extra protection for sensations such as appetite, mood, pain, memory and more. It comes in two forms, CB1 and CB2. CB2 receptors affect the immune system; CB1, the central nervous system. (See the image below)
As always, I’ll give you a snapshot of CBD’s potential with links to follow if you want more in-depth information.
As more studies are completed concerning the therapeutic effects of CBD, scientists are finding that it is a powerful antiepileptic, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antinauseate, sleep aids, muscle relaxants, sedative and antiproliferative.
In particular, it has been found to be incredibly helpful in treating epilepsy in children. That alone has elevated CBD in the minds and interest of medical personnel and the general public. It’s also been found beneficial in treating depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, migraines, multiple sclerosis, diabetes and the list goes on.
CBD, combined with essential and carrier oils, creates chemical-free topicals that nourish and protect skin, muscles, nerves and tissue. Used as medicine, topicals can reduce pain; relax muscles; relieve spasms; reduce inflammation; and relieve headaches and migraines, eczema, psoriasis, and burns among other things. CBD is more permeable than THC so it can zero in on a specific area to relieve pain, itching, burning—again, a long list. In addition, its moisturizing properties are unparalleled for use in beauty and cosmetic skin products.
Lost Remedy deals strictly in topicals, and our products include health and beauty aids. With such an array of benefits, CBD might just be good for what ails you. You’ll never know until you try it.
